The first batch of Nigeria Athletes for the 2018 Commonwealth Games have arrived Gold Coast, Australia, aclsports.com gathered.
This first batch of athletes and coaches for Athletics, Basketball, Boxing, Gymnastics, Para Athletics, Para Power lifting, Para Table Tennis, Table Tennis and Weightlifting totalling 56 athletes and 22 coaches have arrived the Host city.
www.aclsports.com learnt that an advance team of officials from the country’s ministry departed Nigeria on March 18th to attend the Delegates’ Registration Meeting due to hold on March 22nd.
The second batch which will consist of athletes and coaches from Wrestling and Athletics Federations will leave on April 2nd. The Para powerlifting team has three World Record holders and three Paralympians
Paul Kehinde, a World Champion who spoke with aclsports.com disclosed his intentions to set another World Record at the Powerlifting event in Gold Coast.
While, Para Table Tennis player, Faith Bazuaye said her aim is to be amongst those who will return to the country with a medal.
