Coach of Kada Stars, Mike Taangahar has vowed to build a formidable team ahead of the 2019 Prudent Energy Handball League in Abuja.
The former Maccabi Motzkin of Israel player told www.aclsports.com that their shaky performance at the second phase of the 2018 league was due to suspension of players.
Taangahar said Kada stas will do better than the previous season adding that younger players are been recruited into the team.
He said, “What we need to do better this season is to manage the players properly; know how to use them effectively.
“To build a good team takes time but we were able to assemble the team and they played well as a group, hopefully this year we will do better, prepare more than before and come out with good results”.
He further said, “Last season, Kada Stars sat second position at the end of the first phase and were sure of winning the league but we had issues like suspension of our players and so on.
“We had to play and finished fourth after the second phase; for me it was a good result. This year, we want to get some young players and God willing do better than last season”.
Taangahar who played for VFL Pfullingen of Germany in the Bundesliga said his objective is to build a team that can compete anywhere in the world.
He said, “We have some young boys that will join the bigger boys in the league. So are in the junior national teams or called to camp too but off course when the group is good, there is a possibility that everybody will look at them as a good team and there potentials identified.
“My objective is to try building a team and make them play well, bring out the best in them, motivate and the rest is left to luck”.
