Former Akwa United star Alhassan Ibrahim heads the list of nominees for this year’s League Bloggers Award (LBA) billed for October 31 in Lagos.

Alhassan had a stellar season for United, scoring twelve league goals before joining Austrian top division side Austria Wien before the end of the league season in Nigeria. The former youth international has been shortlisted in the ‘Player of the Season’ category alongside Plateau United left back Daniel Itodo and league’s top marksman Anthony Okpotu.

There are 13 categories to be competed for according to a statement by the organizers on Sunday. For the first time, the LBA will honour deserving individuals from the second tier division and in the women’s championship as the best player in each division will be recognized.

The event will hold at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers.
