Top seeds Roger Federer and Rafa Nadal will face each other at the final of the Shanghai Masters on Sunday for the 38th time. The duo had to dig deep to beat their respective opponents to book their fourth meeting of the year and the 24th time they have faced each other in a final.
Federer came from a set down to beat Juan Martin Del Potro 3-6 6-3 6-3 in two hours. Earlier, Nadal recorded a 16th straight win as he saved three set points in the opener to beat Marin Cilic 7-5 7-6(3) via a tie-break.
Federer has won all three of their meetings this year, most notably in the Australian Open final in January.
Nadal is yet to win the Shanghai Masters and will face a tough challenge against the Swiss who is gunning for his second title in Shanghai.
