Basketball: N1m prize money at 10th Ajanah Championship

The cash prize of one million Naira is up for grabs at the 10th Justice Ajanah inter local government basketball championship. The tournament is scheduled for 27th to 30th December 2017 at Okene in Kogi state.

The chairman Kogi state Basketball Association, Chief Ajibarade Bello disclosed this at the unveiling of the jerseys and trophy in Lokoja, the Kogi state capital. Ajanah who was represented by the technical director of the tournament Ajibarede Bello said the championships is a means of gainfully engaging youths.

Bello pointed that basket ball games as one of the main tournaments has served as a unifying factor amongst youths in the state.

He said categories of those to be rewarded at the end of the tournament include 2nd and 3rd place trophies, 3 point shooting championship, Most Valuable Player, Tournament best 5, Fair play team, Best Improved Team, Best Rebounder and Highest Points Scorer.

Former captain of D’Tigers and National Basketball Association (NBA) ambassador Olumide Oyedeji while sharing his experience on basketball called on the players to be dedicated to their duties.
