Nigeria and Arsenal forward, Alex Iwobi, has called on his London side to show more consistency, after a comfortable win at the Emirates on Saturday. The Gunners ended a run of three consecutive games without a win in the Premier League courtesy of their 4-1 demolition of Crystal Palace.
Four goals from four different scorers in an astonishing first 22 minutes of the first half set Arsenal up for an impressive victory.
Nacho Monreal headed Arsenal in front in the sixth minute, before providing assists for Iwobi and Laurent Koscielny to put the Gunners 3-0 up, with just under quarter of an hour gone.
Alexandre Lacazette ended his goal drought when he latched onto an exquisite back heel pass from Mesut Ozil to make it 4-0 at the break.
Luka Milivojevic did pull one back for the Eagles after the break, but it was just a consolation for Roy Hodgson and his sorry side.
Speaking after the game, 21-year-old Nigerian, Iwobi, praised his side’s approach to the game, calling for them to shows more consistency to ‘push on’
“We started with a lot of intensity, that was the key after our last few performances,” Iwobi said. “We showed today that we can move on.
“When everyone is giving 100% we are comfortable. We have to push on against other teams now, consistency is key.”
The game at the Emirates was Iwobi’s 14th in the PL, with two goals and assists to his name.
