At 4pm on Wednesday afternoon, the Agege Township Stadium will come alive as it plays host to a mouthwatering encounter between MFM FC of Lagos and Anambra based Ifeanyi Ubah FC.

With a home win against Kwara United being the only win so far this season, MFM FC would be looking to capitalise on their home form to continue an 100% win record over Ifeanyi Ubah who have never won at the Soccer Temple.

“Ifeanyi Ubah hasn’t won here before, so I don’t see them getting points here tomorrow,” MFM FC coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu said to ACLSports after training on Tuesday.

“I know they have a strong team with my mentor, Coach Ladan Bosso; but at the same time, we have prepared very well because it is a big game. Our last game wasn’t very good but in this one there would be a lot of improvements.”

Ifeanyi Ubah striker or hitman like some love to call him – Godwin Obaje, has started the season the best way possible with three goals in three games. He undoubtedly would pose problems for the host team on Wednesday but Coach Ilechukwu is of the opinion that “some teams have some hit men but MFM team generally, is a hit team.”

“I know Godwin is a very good striker but with what we have we will beat them,” he added.

Unlike MFM FC who have only two goals to their name, Ifeanyi Ubah have scored five times since the beginning of the season and Fidelis Ilechukwu admits that goalscoring has been a major challenge in his team.
.
“Scoring goals is the biggest challenge we have in our team and I can tell you the truth, it’s not only our team.”

“Based on my own philosophy, I work so much on scoring goals but at the same time, when you have experienced players it helps a lot.”

He however calmed the fears of concerned stakeholders by stating that the team is working very hard on goalscoring adding that the team will bounce back well from the poor away results.

“I believe our preparation is not 100% but at the same time, it is my team. I don’t want to any give excuses if the team is not doing well. I only want to take responsibility when the team is not doing well. Anything that concerns the team is my responsibility, that is why we are working very hard but all I know is that we will bounce back.

“It is very possible because, nobody gave us a chance last season and people understand that MFM FC have a very good team that know how to play football very well. So we will bounce back,” he said convincingly.
