It’s no longer news that current Nigerian 400 meters champion, Bamidele Emmanuel is nowhere to be found in the country. This has also brought rifts between athletes, coaches and stakeholders in the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN).

Coach Ishola Oladipupo on his social media page confirmed that Bamidele Emmanuel is truly missing, but distanced himself from the allegations that he sold the athlete to Qatar.

He said, “I am surprised at the post going viral that the current Nigerian 400meters champion has been sold by me to Qatar”.

“I confirm that the said athlete is missing but I know nothing about it as I’m also surprised at the occurrence. It is surprising and disgusting the allegations levelled against me. It is unreasonable and no genuine evidence to back up this speculation or allegations against me”, he said.

Oladipupo warned person(s) to desist from blackmailing him as he is ready to take legal actions against such individuals.

Before Bamidele’s disappearance, he ran a Personal Best (PB) of 45.85s in the semi-finals, lowered the time in the final by clocking an impressive 45.28s.
