It was a full day of stalemates at the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Championship Playoffs, as 270 minutes of football action produced no winners, www.aclsports.com reports.

Enyimba and Bendel Insurance played the first game of the day, before the South West Derby between Remo Stars and Sunshine Stars and the night game featured Lobi Stars and Rivers United at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos.

In the game involving unbeaten Bendel and Enyimba, it came alive in the first half but not much happened afterwards. Sadiq Abubakar scored a spectacular goal in the 23rd minute before Divine Nwachukwu headed the Benin side level before the break.

The result left Enyimba in the top two, while Bendel remained winless at the playoffs with their third consecutive draw.

In the day’s second game, Remo Stars, who failed to protect their lead against Rivers United on Monday, played yet another draw with fellow South West side Sunshine Stars.

Samuel Anakwe finished off a lovely team build-up from a free kick to hand Remo Stars the lead. Sunshine Stars goalkeeper Mustapha Lawal then made a big stop to deny Dayo Ojo midway through the game.

Just seconds after the break, Emmanuel Lucky met a wonderful delivery from Azeez Ajagbe to head Sunshine level. The Owena Whales defended astutely to deny the Sky Blues Stars all maximum points.

The final game between Rivers United and Lobi Stars also finished goalless with the two teams canceling each other out.

The table remain unchanged after the match day three action with all the teams still firmly in the title and continental races. Match day four games will be played at the same venue on Friday starting from 2pm.
