SC Paderborn left back Jamilu Collins is eager to show Nigerians how capable he is in filling the left back void created by the exit of Elderson Echiejile in the coming years.
Collins is in the Nigerian senior national team squad for the second time after making his debut in an holiday match against Liberia last month. The former Under-21 star told www.aclsports.com that Nigerians will have the opportunity to judge his capabilities.
“I feel really really welcomed in the national team and thank the coach for the invitation. For the ability that Nigerians think if I have or not, I will not say but wait to get my chance and Nigerians will see if I have the ability or not,” said the 24-year old.
“The most important thing now is to focus on our game and win Libya and after that Nigerians can see if I have the ability or not,” he reiterated.
Questions have been asked about the quality of the German second division where Collins’ club currently belong. The full back spoke glowingly of the Bundesliga II and insists that players’ performance is not always about the leagues they play in.
“I think the Germany second Bundesliga is also one of the biggest in the world when you check.
“They have every quality there like you get in Europe and they have top players also who play there so I don’t think playing in the third or second Bundesliga or any other part in the world. It’s just the quality and determination the players have,” added Collins.
