The Super Eagles have been branded as a “scam” by disappointed Nigerians following their woeful performance against Madagascar in the TOTALAFCON2019 on Sunday.

Nigeria was convincingly beaten 2-0 by debutants Madagascar whose bravery and discipline earned them a deserved shock and historic win over their highly rated counterparts.

With the result, Madagascar finished top of Group B with seven points, ahead of Nigeria in second on six points.

This development has not gone down quite well with Nigerians who have taken to their social media accounts to voice their anger and shock.

Here are some of their reactions;

Madagascar top the Group that has Nigeria? Not only that, they beat Nigeria 2 nil. What a day to be a supporter of Super Eagles! My head is down. 😔

Super Eagles, that was easy. Even ALB FC will score 1🤣🤣🤣

I am in tears, bro. https://t.co/ScRIbmyikF

Wow! So Afcon debutants Madagascar are actually going to win and keep a clean sheet against three-time Afcon champions Nigeria. #TotalAFCON2019 #NGAMAD

Looking at the Nigerian team, you'll think there's depth..... My brother na scam 🌚 #MADNGA

— Nuel (@playwithnuel) June 30, 2019

After failing to truly test the Madagascar goalkeeper, the Super Eagles have been termed as a “scam” and “overrated”.

Looking at the Nigerian team, you'll think there's depth..... My brother na scam 🌚 #MADNGA

— Nuel (@playwithnuel) June 30, 2019

The earlier the Super Eagles realize how overrated they are, the better. #MADNGA #TotalAFCON2019

Franco-German coach Gernot Rohr may have qualified for the round of 16 with a game to spare but the performance today against the debutants has led to some hard talk.

I hope this coach can be fired after this game cos this is not the coach that can lead us to play Ghana. Onyekuru, Chukwueze, Osimhen, Simon all on the bench. Boys that will dazzle this opponents easily. So so disappointed.

— Akunne (@HarrisonNwak) June 30, 2019

Can this game just end, such a woeful performance from super eagles.
Where is our oyinbo coach in all this?

— TheChosenOne (@daphor11) June 30, 2019

If we think Rohr with his amazing CV is the one to lead a new era in Nigerian football we are seriously mistaken. Its time to bring in Amuneke. Let them coaches switch place abeg.

— Koye Sowemimo (@soweesy78) June 30, 2019

This coach will be clapping as if he's at revival. Moyes that attends Cele

— Dams 水坝 (@d_amilola_) June 30, 2019

1 game to spare coach has failed again
Guess until we start losing to Haiti,then we will know this Rohr is a scam

— TheChosenOne (@daphor11) June 30, 2019

Beginning to worry for this coach cos he didn't play the right players. Everything has been horrible to watch.

— Akunne (@HarrisonNwak) June 30, 2019

More questions for Rohr than he perhaps has answers for;

Victor Osihmen...
Henry Onyekuru...
Samuel Chukwueze...
Is it that Rohr doesn't trust these guys?

— Amaka (@Amakaokolidd) June 30, 2019

It's as if this match was sold to Rohr's in-law.....shameful performance #MADNGA

Nigeria get better players but our couch no sabi use dem,.. imagine the man no even know his first eleven. #MADNGA NIGERIA pic.twitter.com/khZbQVj2Vt

As usual, after every poor performance and result, there will be calls for some players to step aside, this time, here is a message for Ahmed Musa and captain, John Mikel Obi.

Abeg after this tournament. Let it be the end of Ighalo, Musa, Ezenwa and Mikel in the National team. Thank you for the memories

— Mazi (@chukkietweets) June 30, 2019

Now, here we have a comprehensive take on the game and of course, player rating.

FT: #NGA 0-2 #MDA

THE TRUTHS;
- Leon suddenly gone bad
- Kalu can’t still cut it
- Ighalo without a final ball is useless
- Mikel is done & dusted
- Ogu is Eagles’ scapegoat
- Rohr is just a slim Avram Grant

It’s a SLAP that Madagascar finish about Nigeria. #AFCONOnDStv pic.twitter.com/Azu2l0HTlb

— POOJA!!! (@PoojaMedia) June 30, 2019

Oi, @tayo_taiwo. I'm not even close to a computer right now. Just assign everyone a 2/10 rating and we'll call it good.
