Alex Song is back at his former club Arsenal after temporarily departing Russian side Rubin Kazan which he joined in 2016 from West Ham United.
The 30-year-old has been authorised by Arsenal to keep fit at the London Colney, the Gunners training ground.
Currently in dire financial straits, Rubin Kazan have instructed Song and other foreign players to look for a new club ahead of a mutual contract termination.
In a recent interview, the former Cameroon international revealed that the club owed him and other players salaries from several months.
The defensive midfielder joined Arsenal on loan from French club Bastia in 2005, which was made permanent a year later.
After six seasons at Emirates Stadium, Song had an unsuccessful spell at Barcelona who loaned him twice to West Ham between 2014 and 2016.
