As the countdown to the African Military Games 2024 in Abuja begins, Nigeria Armed Forces volleyball teams are ramping up their preparations to showcase their skills and represent the nation with pride.

The games are scheduled to take place from November 18th to 30th, 2024, at the Moshood Abiola Stadium.

Under the expert guidance of head coach Yakubu Zango, the men’s team is honing their strategies and building teamwork through rigorous drills and practice matches. Zango, known for his experience and tactical acumen, is focused on refining the players’ techniques and instilling a competitive spirit that will be crucial in the upcoming games.

Meanwhile, the women’s team, led by head coach Elishama Elam, is equally committed to their preparation. Elam’s coaching style emphasizes strength and agility, and he is working tirelessly to develop a cohesive unit that can effectively compete against their African counterparts.

Elam told www.aclsports.com that the players are not only focusing on physical conditioning but also enhancing their mental resilience to prepare for the challenges that lie ahead.

“The athletes understand the importance of their representation at the games,” he said.

“They are not only competing for medals but also for national pride. They are committed to embodying the values of discipline, teamwork, and excellence that the military instils in them.”

With dedicated coaching, rigorous training, and a shared goal of bringing glory to Nigeria, both the men’s and women’s volleyball teams are poised to make a significant impact at the African Military Games in Abuja.
