Defender Babes Pivot, Idowu Abdulrazaq has said her ultimate ambition in the 2023 Ardova Handball Premier League is to emerge the highest goalscorer.

Idowu Abdulrazaq won the highest goal scorer in the 2020, 2021 and 2022 Prudent Energy Handball League seasons. Abdulrazaq has set her focus on helping her side win the trophy by scoring goals for the Defenders Babes.

The former Adorable Angels player revealed to www.aclsports.com that her teammates have been instrumental to her successful career in handball.

She said, “Personally, my target has always been the same. The target is to score goals and more goals for my team. It is all about the team and if the goals to propel the team come through me then it is all good.

“I am not going to be selfish but anytime I have the opportunity to score, I will do my best to get the ball into the net. But my first ambition is to emerge the highest goalscorer in the league.

“We have been preparing seriously for the handball league with our coaches. They have shown us some of the things we didn’t do right and we have corrected those mistakes. Missing out the league to Safety Babes last season was painful”, Abdulrazaq told www.aclsports.com

The Pivot says she would like to make her return to the senior team adding that her last experience with the national team at the 2019 African Games in Morocco was amazing.

Defenders Babes will face Seasiders Babes in their first match at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium by 10:30am on Sunday.
