Coach of Lagos Seasiders HC, Bukola Duru says her team is back on track after recording their first win in three matches at the ongoing 2024 Ardova Handball Premier League in Benin City, Edo State.
Lagos Seasiders beat Sunshine Kings 31 to 22 goals on Day 3 after losing to De Defenders (22 to 25) and TojeMarine HC (26 to 36) in their first two matches.
Duru told www.aclsports.com that the win against Sunshine Kings has boosted the morale of the players adding that every game will be taking with high level of seriousness.
She revealed that the players know the consequences of not winning their remaining which means they have to battle for relegation.
Duru said, “I am excited my team was able to record a win against newly promoted Sunshine Kings on Wednesday; it means we are back on track in the league. It was unfortunate we lost our opening match against De Defenders because we have equal strength; there is nothing spectacular about them. if we had converted all our chances, the game would have ended in our favour.
“My expectations are still high and the league is still open. We have played three out of 11 matches and I believe anything can still happen in the first phase. I have told the players the consequences of not winning the remaining matches and they have promised to adjust.
“Our next match is against Kano Pillars HC is going to be explosive because we are both on the game points but different goal difference. We are going to take advantage of their weaknesses and compound their woes”, she added.
