Fans of Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas have taken to social media to react to the news of an imminent arrival of Nigeria U23 captain Okechukwu Azubuike at the Istanbul based club.
Azubuike, 22, had a fruitful spell at Super Lig side Çaykur Rizespor having joined them on loan from Egyptian side Pyramids for the second half of the 2018/19 season. It is now being reported that the defensive midfielder is set to join Besiktas on a permanent move this summer.
An agreement is said to have been found between Pyramids and Besiktas although the midfielder is said to still be studying the offers as there are other good offers for his signature on the table.
Besiktas finished third at the end of the season, just four points behind city rivals Galatasaray who won the league and will be campaigning in the Europa League next term. The club’s fans reacted (and are still reacting) in diverse ways to the news on Azubuike, mostly in exultation of the deal.
