De Defenders beat defending champions, Niger United by 28 to 25 goals in grand style on the Day 4 of the Prudent Energy Handball league.

Ex international, Udale Joseph and Mudashiru Abdulmujeeb compounded the woes of Niger United in an action filled match at the velodrome of the National Stadium package A in Abuja.

Niger United chief coach, Yekini Adebayo could not believe his eyes as his team have lost four crucial points in the first phase of the league.

Elsewhere, a dying minute goal from Ezinne Onyemaechi (Left with the ball) helped Imo grasshoppers defeat Defenders Babes in a do or die match.

Defenders Babes led the game till the last two minutes but lost concentration as Stella Ndudi led Imo grasshoppers capitalized on the errors of the Defenders Babes to turn the game to their favour.

Edo Dynamos got their second draw of the league as they played out an interesting 20-20 game, as COAS Shooters were held to a 29-29 draw with Plateau Vipers
