Captain of Nigeria senior handball women’s team, Dorathy Nyang has returned her club side, Benue Queens to the 2022 Prudent Energy Handball League.
Benue Queens finished second place at the recently concluded 2021 National Handball Division 1 League held in Benin, Edo state.
Nyang told www.aclsports.com that injuries suffered by some of her team mates forced them to settle for second place.
The lanky player said returning to the Prudent Energy Handball League was the priority of the Makurdi based team.
She said, “I feel super excited to be back in the Prudent Energy Handball League. Though we finished second position in the Division 1 League due to series of injuries, we are still okay because our main target was to return to the elite league where we belong.
Nyang said Benue Queens will fight hard in the 2022 Prudent Energy Handball League in order to remain in the top flight league.
She said, “Benue Queens has what it takes to compete at the Prudent Energy Handball League. It does not matter how small we may seem to be. What matters is the zeal and determination. We are determined to stay in the league this time and we are going to fight hard.”
