The Three Lions let slip an early lead as the Czech Republic came from behind to inflict a first defeat in a decade in dramatic fashion.
Harry Kane put England in perfect position when he had them 1-0 ahead in the fifth minute via a penalty goal, but it only lasted for a moment as Jakub Brabec equalised for the hosts four minutes later.
The home side snatched all three points with five minutes left to play when second half substitute, Zdenek Ondrasek netted the winner as England failed to hold on to at least a point.
The result means the Czech Republic move level on 12 points with England, who however stay top of Group A thanks to their superior goal difference.
