Nigerian striker Odion Jude Ighalo has been named the English Emirates FA Cup Player of the Fifth Round by leading Stats site whoscored.com

According to the globally respected UK based site, Ighalo who scored twice for Manchester United in their 3-0 win over Derby County on Thursday night ranked highest among all players that featured in the 5th round from Tuesday to Thursday.

Ighalo scored a round high 9.50 points to claim the “Player of the Round” honour as his goals – one in each half – also earned his side a quarter final place against Norwich City at Carrow Road.

The Number 25 had a total of five shots in the game at Pride Park with four of them going on target and half of those resulting in goals, taking his tally for the club to 3 goals since making a shock swap from China in January.

He was also named in the Whoscored FA Cup Team of the Round on Friday morning.

Ighalo had earlier on Thursday night been named the Manchester United Man of the Match in the 3-0 win before these accolades from WhoScored.

Up next for the former Prime FC forward is the prestigious Manchester Derby at Old Trafford on Sunday.
