Nigeria female U20 team, the Falconets have qualified for the 10th edition of the U-20 World Cup taking place in Costa Rica later this year following a 7-2 aggregate win over Senegal.

The first leg ended 3-1 in favour of the Falconets in Senegal. This was followed by a 4-1 win at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City at the weekend as the girls booked their ticket to the global showpiece.

A first-half brace from Flourish Sebastine alongside goals from Joy Jerry and Esther Onyenezide ensured that Christopher Danjuma’s girls qualified in style. Sebastine scored twice in the first 20 minutes before Onyenezide added a third from the penalty spot to kill any hopes of a Senegalese fightback. Their West African counterparts however socred from the spot to try and get back into the tie but this was met with a final blow from Jerry who rounded up the scoring on the day.
