While it looked like Zambia were coasting to a comfortable victory over the 2023 FIFAWWC favorites, little did everyone know there was more drama to come as both teams scored three goals in 12 minutes of added time.
It all began with Lea Schuller pulling one back for the Germans with a header in the first minute of added time. Then Alexander Popp got the fans going with the equalizer in the 90th +10 minute.
Only to be caught out by yet another mistake which saw Barbra Banda double her tally in the game. She chased down an inch perfect through pass from midfield beating the last German defender in a foot race before brilliantly chipping the on rushing German goalkeeper to make it 3-2 to Zambia in the final minute of added time.
Zambia will go into their debut World Cup campaign in high spirits as they look to make a statement in Australia and New Zealand where they will face Japan, Spain and Costa Rica in Group C.
