The coach of Borno Spiders, Ameh Owoicho says he is excited to record his first win over Lagos Seasiders at the ongoing 2020 Prudent Energy Handball League in Abuja.

Borno Spiders came back from behind to beat Lagos Seasiders by a one goal margin (26 to 25 goals).

Owoicho told www.aclsports.com that the over Lagos Seasiders is a morale booster and will help guide the team in the remaining matches.

He said, “I am happy Borno Spiders won this game because it means a lot to us. We did not play our first match of the season against COAS Shooters due to the large influx of vehicular movement in the North East. If we met COAS Shooters, we could have given them a good fight.

“The boys did not believe they could put an upset because of the caliber of players Lagos Seasiders paraded but the boys took advantage of Lagos playful attitude. This will go a long way in shaping the mentality of the players ahead of other matches.

“Today was a game where we could take the maximum we needed in terms of positivity and we have been able to do that,” said Owoicho.

Owoicho said his players are showing lost of quality that is capable of sustaining their premier league campaign.

He said, “The players have showed lot of the qualities and traits that a good team has to show on a regular basis. In the short time I have been with them, I have seen good quality, good application, and a group of players who are ready to shock other teams”.
