The coordinator of Borno state handball association, Yusuf Mustapha has assured fans of Borno Spiders that the team will not be relegated from the premier league.

Borno Spiders have won three games, drew one and lost four games at the ongoing 2019 Prudent Energy Handball League in Abuja.

Mustapha said Spiders are well prepared and motivated to upset bigger teams in the first phase.

He said, “I want to assure the fans of Borno Spiders to keep faith alive. We will not relegate; this I know for sure.

“It is all about preparations, we have gone back to the drawing board put our plans down with the technical crew to see where we are lacking and fill the places. We have been in closed camp for one month all is going well and by the grace of God we plan to upset more teams”.

The Ex international disclosed that despite losing the highest goal scorer to Niger United, the team still remained intact.

He said, “After losing the highest goal scorer to Niger United, he is planning to come back because he is not finding things rosy in his new team. Definitely in team events, it is not like boxing, we have found a replacement for him”.

He further said, “All hands are on deck, already we have written to the government to establish the female team and by the grace of God, the division one come up later in the year, Topline Sparrow will participate and clinch the ticket for the Premier League”.

He commended the President of the Federation Sam Ocheho and his board members for revamping handball in Nigeria.

“The league is excellent, the board members are doing well; we are praying for Sam Ocheho and his team to continue for another four years” he added.
