The Handball Federation of Nigeria has appointed the highest professional player, Nadabo Ibrahim as scout at the National Division one league in Kaduna.

The Secretary General of HFN, Haruna Maigidansanma disclosed this to www.aclsports.com on Saturday via telephone.

Maigidansanma said the former Aski Anakara of Turkey player has been invited to the division one league as a technical official and to scout for talents that would fit into the country’s cadet and junior national teams.

Speaking with www.aclsports.com, Nadabo Ibrahim said he wants to see Nigerian handball go back to its days of glory in all category whereby Nigeria will be amongst the first three teams in Africa.

The former Vastra Frolunda Gothenburg of Sweden revealed that he will discharge his duties without fear or favour and select players who are capable of bringing honour to Nigeria.

The former Club Africa Tunis player said, “I am honoured to have been appointed scout of the country’s cadet and junior teams; I never saw it coming but I promise to put in my best. My aim will be to take Nigeria handball back to our glorious days where we were feared and ranked among the top three teams.

“I will discharge my duties to the best of my abilities”.

He said the best in his career after every achievement is qualifying Nigeria for the 1999 senior men World Cup in Egypt as the first Sub Sahara country to have achieve the feat

The former Eras Valencia of Spain player said, “I have played at the in the junior and senior national teams, represented Nigeria at the junior World Cup in 1985 at Ancona, Italy; so many African Nations Cup but the best of them was qualifying Nigeria for the Senior World Cup in 1998 at Johannesburg, South Africa and eventually playing at the 1999 senior men World Cup in Egypt.

The former junior Africa best player played for the following teams in Nigeria: Plateau Vipers, Niger United, Sokoto Rima, Benue Buffalo, Club Africa Tunise, Kano Pyramids.

Nadabo Ibrahim has played professional handball in 12 division one clubs in 10 countries and has travelled to over 67 countries of the world.

He also played in Asian championships, African Championships, Arabic championships, European Championships, Scandinavian championships amongst others
