The Zana of Ilorin and Managing Director, Yolas Consult, Engineer Lanre Sagaya has hailed Ilorin Golf Club as a key incubator for champions, highlighting its success in producing distinguished golfers and veterans.

During the ICMA PRO-AM Open Golf Tournament 2024 held in Ilorin on Saturday, he praised the event’s organisation and noted its appeal, as golfers from across Nigeria participated in the four-day competition.

The respected golfer emphasised the club’s inviting atmosphere and well-maintained lush greens, which he believes play a crucial role in attracting golfers nationwide.

“It’s heartening to see so many golfers coming together for this tournament. It demonstrates the passion and commitment to the sport across the country,” he stated.

Engineer Sagaya emphasised the club’s inviting atmosphere and well-maintained lush greens, which he believes play a crucial role in attracting golfers nationwide.

“The ambiance here is truly fantastic. The lush greens and the setting create an unparalleled experience for players,” he added.

“The tournament has exceeded expectations. We have participants from Abuja, Port Harcourt, Ibadan, and Lagos, which speaks volumes about the club’s reputation,” he remarked.

He also commended ICMA Professional Services for their significant investment in golf.

“Their commitment is paving the way for the future of the sport in Nigeria. I encourage other organisations to step up and support golf development in our country,” he urged.

Sagaya concluded by saying, “If we work together, we can elevate golf in Nigeria to new heights and create more champions for the future.”
