The 2021 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League, Kano Pillars Volleyball Club, are confident that they can challenge for the 2023 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League title.
According to the Kano Pillars head coach, Musa Babamusa; the club is in the running to win the league title this season and they have put every measure in place to keep their players on their toes.
Babamusa told www.aclsport.com that the lapses of the team have been identified after the first phase adding that no stone will be left unturned in the second phase of the league in Abuja.
He said, “Kano Pillars is prepared for the second phase of the 2023 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League. The team has been working on our lapses after the end of the first phase with some couple of breaks; I know why the team did not perform too well.
“My team is currently third on the table and the difference between Kano Pillars and the first on the log is not more than 5 points. I know we can breach the gap and I think we will do well.
“The first time Kano Pillars won the league, it shocked the volleyball community. Unfortunately, we did not do well in the following season but we will spring a surprise and win the 2023 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League; it is going to be another surprise for everyone”.
The former Kano Super Star player explained that his team can compete at the African Club Championship against the North Africans and make a huge statement.
He said, “I believe my team has the firepower to compete in next year’s African Club Championship; it all boils down to preparations like the duration, environment and the input. I know the gap between Sub Saharan African and North Africans is far because to them sports is business and a profession; they take time to work on their system.
“By the time we win the trophy to qualify us for the African Club Championship, we will know what to do then”.
