Organisers of KnockOut 2019, a PS4 competition in Southern Nigeria have rolled out cash incentives to the tune of hundreds of thousands of Nigerian naira to be won in this competition billed for later this month.
According to a broadcast journalist and chief organiser of the event Chidiebere Anugwolu, there will be up to 200,000 nairas worth of cash to be won in the challenge coming up in Port Harcourt on December 22nd.
“Finally, for the first time, there is some gratification for gamers in Rivers State and something the tech youths can munch on for the festivities this December,” began a statement made available to www.aclsport.com
“KnockOut 2019 is a gaming championship for gamers in Rivers State with a total prize money of N200, 000; but it’s even more.
“Knockout is a one-day event which will also include a workshop where participating youths will be enlightened about the dangers in drug abuse.”
While this is the championship’s first edition, it is targeted at Rivers State youths (those in tertiary/secondary institutes and those out of school as well) and including those who are young at heart.
“It will take the shape of a mini – carnival with lots of side attractions like – Ludo, Draft, Ayo etc…, Music from Port Harcourt’s enterprising artistes, Spoken word poetry, comedy etc.
“The major aim of the show is to improve the spirit of competition amongst youths of Rivers State and also to keep awakening the technological consciousness youths in the state.”
Registration for the championship is N2,500 and game type if FIFA19 on Playstation 4. And venue is at the Orange Room Lounge, 7 King Perekule street, G.R.A Phase 1, Port Harcourt.
