The Children’s Day is celebrated around the world on May 27 and in Nigeria, the World’s leading football league, LaLiga celebrated it in a special way for the African kids, giving them a treat of their lives.
Lagos, 27th May 2023: LaLiga in partnership with Big Cola and Fundacion LaLiga celebrated the Africa Day with kids from selected schools in Lagos.
The event which was held at the Yoruba Tennis Club Onikan Lagos saw in attendance staff and students from six selected schools in Lagos who put up captivating cultural performances from different tribes while adorned in rich traditional attires.
Welcoming guests to the event, the LaLiga Global Network Delegate for Ghana and Nigeria, Desmond Chiji expressed the importance of Africa to LaLiga.
‘Africa has a very valuable place in the LaLiga ecosystem, which is why we chose to celebrate the rich culture and diversity of the African Continent on the day set aside to celebrate Africa. We are having similar events in every country that LaLiga has Presence in Africa. As LaLiga, we will continue to strengthen our bond with the African Continent for years to come.”

Also speaking at the event, Head Marketing Operations for The Big Bottling Company (Producers of Big Cola), Perpetual Ohiri expressed her delight “Africa Day is symbolic, as it the day that commemorates the founding of the Organisation of African Unity (25th May 1963) now known as the African Union.
This celebration though a differentiation from what LaLiga and Big Cola are known for, Football and Beverages resonates with the concept of brands coming together in unity celebrate what is divergently African, and uniquely Nigerian.
