“Leganés and FC Porto (have) reached an agreement for the one-year loan of 22-year-old Nigerian international central defender Chidozie Collins, ” Leganes confirmed on their official social media account.
The 22-year-old versatile defender joined Porto from NPFL club, El-Kanemi Warriors in the summer of 2014/2015 but has spent most of his time away from the club on loan.
He had a stint in France, where he had a successful 2017/2018 campaign at Nantes FC before he was on the move again this time in the Turkish Super Lig with Caykur Rizespor for the 2018/2019 season.
For the 2019/2020 season, Porto have once again sent Awaziem on loan to Spain where he will continue his development alongside Super Eagles teammate, Omeruo.
Both defenders played key roles in Nigeria’s march to the bronze medal at the recently concluded AFCON2019 in Egypt.
Awaziem is expected to join his new teammates immediately and will wear jersey number 12 once LaLiga kicks off this weekend.
