LaLiga premieres 2019/2020 season, unveils official ball to all

LaLiga Santander is truly back after LaLiga Nigeria premiered the 2019/2020 season and presented to the Nigerian media the official ball last week with YourSportsMemo, www.ACLSports.com, in attendance.

The new LaLiga season kicked off on August 17, with Atletico Madrid top of the standings on nine points after three matches while defending champions, Barcelona find themselves five points behind and eighth on the log.

In a well-attended event was held at the Radisson Blu hotel in Ikeja, Lagos state, as LaLiga Nigeria took members of the press on a journey to showcase what the Spanish league has in store in the new season for its Nigerian lovers.

Speaking at the event, LaLiga ambassador and Nigerian football legend, Mutiu Adepoju, was effusive in his praise of the LaLiga, which he says remains the best league in the world courtesy of its consistency.

“It is the best league in the world not only saying it but there’s enough to show for it, ” Adepoju said.

“The consistency, big players in the world are all playing in LaLiga and LaLiga have won (Ballon d’Or) ten times. So, there are so many exciting things bout LaLiga.”

LaLiga representative, Guillermo Perez Castello, in his remarks said that apart from bringing more excitement to their fans in Nigeria, LaLiga wants to strengthen further their commitment to developing the game of football in the country.

“We are happy to bring to our Nigerian fans another season of exciting football experience, ” Castello opined.

“This season, LaLiga plans to reinforce its commitment to the Nigerian market through partnerships such as the LaLiga – NPFL coaching seminar for Nigerian youth coaches, the LaLiga – NPFL U-15 tournament, the MoU signing with the NWFL to bolster women’s sports etc.”

Furthermore, LaLiga presented the official ball for the season, and also used the event to display their state of the art hi-tech facilities, including the Video Assistant Referee, VAR, meant to ensure fans of the league enjoy the very best of football.

At the end of the event, some members of the press were rewarded for playing the LaLiga fantasy football league, with prizes like jerseys, balls amongst others.
