Ahead of week 10 in the LaLiga Santander, LaLiga has unveiled a new match ball with a magical difference in colour. The new ball has been ‘repainted’ by the LaLiga official match ball makers, PUMA, and will replace the first match ball released in June this year.
According to LaLiga, the new ball will sport a magical pink colour and be used not just in the LaLiga Santander but also in the SmartBank games to be played between October 25, 2019, to February 2020.
Released under the slogan “Repainting LaLiga”, the new pink ball which is said to be “pure magic” with the manufacturers (Puma) presenting a change in design to the heartbeat of the Spanish League which reflects how the magic gets underway from the very moment the ball starts to roll.
Meanwhile, despite the change, the ball retains its unique technical details – improved aerodynamics, resistance to the graze, wear and tear, better durability and higher performance levels.

The ball retains its innovative 18-panel heat-sealed structure from the previous design, which is similar to that of a golf ball and guarantees a straight path and better consistency in the shot, with the bigger panels allowing for a better connection with the sphere.
Also, its magical pink colour ensures the ball will not only stand out but will show that anything is indeed possible in the beautiful game of football.
It also incorporates an additional POE foam layer that improves the touch and increases the sensitivity, which results in a firm touch and an improved rebound consistency.
The ball also has a perfect sphere, guaranteeing reduced water absorption, and features a rubber air chamber with a PAL (Puma Air Lock) valve which assures excellent air retention.
In a nutshell, this is a ball with explosive potential, just like the new colour of choice, the bold PINK ALERT.
Famous Puma ambassador and well-known football fan Cristina Pedroche, alongside Puma-sponsored players; Marc Bartra, Nolito and Santi Cazorla were tasked with unveiling the ball at a colourful event that sought to convey all of the vibrancy and particularity of this new design, whilst afro trap band, Afrojuice were on hand to provide musical entertainment.
LaLiga’s global ambassadors, Fernando Morientes and Gaizka Mendieta, also took part in this amazing event held to unveil the new and magically striking LaLiga Santander and LaLiga SmartBank match ball
