After an outstanding performance by Nigeria wrestlers at the ongoing World Wrestling Championship in France, on Wednesday, Daniel Igali, President Nigeria Wrestling Federation (NWF) has said Mercy Genesis can win a gold medal.

Nigeria won her first World silver medal through Odunayo Adekuoroye.

Igali noted that the All Africa Games Gold medallist is been propelled by the performances of both Blessing Oborududu and Odunayo Adekuoroye.

The President told ACLSports.com that the wrestlers can win medals everyday.

“God willing it will be gold today for the Africa Silver medallist, Genesis Mercy. She is a strong wrestler and I’m sure with what played out yesterday, she’ll put everything into her bouts”.

“We can win it all everyday. The announcement of Nigeria hosting the 2018 Africa Wrestling Championships increased the morale of the team. All I’ll say is that every Nigerian should continue to pray for the team,” said the Former World Champion.

Nigeria’s Mercy Genesis begins her campaign today (Thursday) against Miglena Selishka of Bulgaria in the first round of the 48kg female category.
