Akwa United Head Coach, John Obuh, has told www.aclsports.com that ‘it is not possible’ he is being undermined at the club by some players.
Obuh was responding to an incident involving one of his star players, Ndifreke Effiong, during their humbling defeat to MFM FC on Friday.
The Promise Keepers suffered a 3-0 thrashing to MFM during the first match of the NPFL week 8 at the Soccer Temple in Agege.
Two second-half goals from the super sub, Alade Balogun, and a Clement Ogwu penalty in the first half handed Obuh and his Akwa United side their third defeat in the new season.
During the game at Agege, #YourSportsMemo spotted an altercation between coach Obuh and his forward, Ndifreke.
A visibly vexed Obuh was heard saying to his coaching crew; “I will bring him (Ndifreke) out of there o! What kind of nonsense is this?”

The coach was trying to give some tactical instructions to the Super Eagles player who rather than listen to his coach reacted disrespectfully by uttering some words and kicking the ball away.
Reacting to the incident after the game, the United coach denied he was being undermined by the player and his teammates.
“It is not possible, ” he said after aclsports.com reporter asked if he was being undermined by Ndifreke and his teammates.
“But judge by yourself if that (behaviour) is supposed to be proper, ” he added.
Meanwhile, Obuh has blamed ‘tactical indiscipline’ from his players after poor errors contributed to their humiliating defeat to MFM on Friday.
Speaking on the reason behind their loss, the former national coach said;
“Imagine the kind of goals we conceded, if we hadn’t given that can of opportunity to them, (I don’t think we would have lost) because we came to win the game.”
“But unfortunately, a lot of tactical indiscipline cost us the game.”

The defeat in Agege means Akwa United have now won just one of their opening eight matches in the 2019/2020 season, with their only win so far the 4-0 demolition of Adamawa United the previous weekend.
Obuh and United find themselves 15th on the NPFL table with seven points from a possible 24 points.
Next up for the Promise Keepers, they host Port Harcourt-based side, Rivers United, on Wednesday at their beautiful home in Uyo.
