Host team Morocco defeated Egypt 5-0 to clinch the 2020 Africa Futsal Cup of Nations in Laayoune, the capital city of Western Sahara, on Friday.
Soufiane El Masrar scored twice while Abdelatif Fati, Anas El Ayyane and Saad Knia scored one goal each to hand the Atlas Lions a resounding victory.
Both teams also met in the final of the previous edition in 2016, with Morocco snatching a 3-2 win.
Both teams will represent Africa at the upcoming Futsal World Cup in Lithuania next September / October.
Angola, who beat Libya 2-0 to claim the third place, also qualifies for the World Cup.
The 2020 Africa Futsal Cup of Nations was notably marked by political incidents following the withdrawal of South Africa and Algeria, whose governments opposed the venue of the tournament in the disputed Western Sahara.
Morocco governs a huge part of the territory against the will of the indigenous population politically known as Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, who are backed by Algeria.
Both teams have been punished by CAF for pulling out of the competition.
