The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) national volleyball team has intensified their preparations for the 2nd Zone 3 Confederation of Africa Volleyball (CAVB) Clubs Championships scheduled to hold in Lagos between 14th and 19th April, 2019.
The NPF national volleyball coach, Taiwo Oladipupo told www.aclsports.com that all was going according to plan in Lagos as there were no injury worries in the team ahead of the Zone 3 Africa Club Championship in Nigeria.
Oladipupo expressed confidence over the performance of his players at the championships.
He said, “The training is going on fine; we are gradually crossing the t”s and dotting the ‘i’s. Our team has been in camp for some couple of weeks in Lagos and fully prepared for the Zone 3 Africa Club championships in Nigeria on the 14th of April.
“Looking at the present form of the Nigeria Police Force volleyball team, you will see that we have improved drastically. Currently, the team is ranked third in Nigeria and I have a strong conviction that the team will do better”.
He revealed that his team is not scared of other foreign opponents adding that they will surprise their fans positively.
He said, “At the 2018 Nigeria Volleyball League, the Nigeria Police came third and we are no longer settling for anything less than the final. I know with the preparations the sky is the limit.
“Why should I be afraid of other foreign clubs? I am not frightened by their names or whatever because there is a demarcation between their teams and the Police. Even if my team is going to play against the best team in the world, we are not going to chicken out”.
Oladipupo further said, “For those who believe in the Nigeria Police Volleyball team, all I ask for is their prayers. By God’s grace, we will not let them down. Surprises await those that knew the team before because our morale is high to deliver the nest of volleyball”.
