Full back Wisdom Jumbo says he is thrilled by his new side Warri Wolves’ 1-2 away win against Nasarawa United in a Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match decided in Lafia on Monday.
Jumbo who spoke with www.aclsports.com after the game believes the last gasp victory is a sign of good thing to come in his Wolves adventure.
In-form striker Charles Atshimene scored both goals for Wolves – sandwiched by a penalty goal by Abubakar Lawal for the hosts – including a stoppage winner to send thousands of supporters at the Lafia Township Stadium back home empty handed.
“I bless God for the win. It is always a great thing to start your life at a new club with a win. Now, an away win is more special,” said Jumbo.

Warri Wolves went into Monday game on the back of a home loss to Rangers International last Wednesday and Jumbo thinks the win over Nasarawa would help to cushion the effect of that.
“We are all happy with the win (especially) after last defeat to Rangers. The win kind of help us to erase the disappointment of Wednesday and we must have the same belief going to Umuahia next weekend,” said Jumbo.
Playing from the right full back position, Jumbo who is just into his second season in the NPFL played for 86 minutes before he was replaced by former MFM star Joshua Abah.
Monday’s win propelled Warri Wolves to 14th on the log with twenty points from 16 matches.
In Monday’s other NPFL game, Rivers United returned joint top with Plateau United and Lobi Stars after a 1-1 draw with Jigawa Golden Stars in Kano.
Cletus Emotan’s 14th minute goal for United was cancelled out six minutes from time by Mujaheed Ibrahim for Jigawa Stars.
