Nigeria Premier Football League club Shooting Stars Sports Club (3Sc) of Ibadan have announced that Gbenga Ogunbote, the head coach of the side, has signed a contract extension with the Oluyole Warriors, www.aclsports.com reports.

Ogunbote, who returned to the club in 2022, has signed a new two-year-deal with the Ibadan side ahead of the 2024-25 season.

The club confirmed the announcement in a statement on Tuesday, putting an end to weeks of speculation and discussions over a new deal at the club.

Speaking after signing the contract extension, Ogunbote expressed his joy over the development.

“I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue leading this talented group of athletes and I am excited about the future we will build together,” said the former Remo Stars head coach.

He also went on to appreciate the management of the club, and the fans, expressing the belief that the team will achieve in the coming season.

“I say a big thank you to the organization and fans for their support, and I can’t wait to see what we can achieve in the coming years. Up Shooting, ” concluded coach Ogunbote.

Shooting Stars, who have started preparations ahead of the new campaign, finished in fourth spot with 62 points to narrowly miss out on a place on the continent in the 2023-24 season.
