The League Bloggers Awards (LBA), an independent awards ceremony which recognizes the finest actors in a Nigeria Professional Football League season has been moved to Tuesday, November 28, 2017.
The organisers initially announced that the event will take place on
October 31 but have now adjusted the schedule for the award ceremony in order to have a hitch-free ceremony.
The organisers also informed www.aclsports.com on Friday that the venue for the ceremony which has been expanded this year to honour top performers in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), the Nigeria National League (NNL) and the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) remains the Sheraton Hotel in Lagos.
Nasarawa Amazons star, Amarachi Okonkwo heads the list of the nominees for the Women’s League’s best player and she will contend with other exciting prospects such as Rivers Angels’ Patience Kalu and Nigeria Under-20 duo, FC Robo’s Rasheedat Ajibade and Charity Reuben of Ibom Angels.
Plateau United’s league winning coach, Kennedy Boboye expectedly heads the list for the coach of the year award which also has Akwa United’s Abdu Maikaba who won the AITEO Cup in his first season with his side.
Former Akwa United attacking midfielder Alhassan Ibrahim is one of four nominees for the elite league’s player of the season award, a list which also includes last season’s top scorer, Anthony Okpotu. Plateau United’s Daniel Itodo and former MFM striker, Stephen Odey complete the list.
Enyimba captain Mfon Udoh was the last recipient of the League Bloggers Award Player of the Season honour in 2014.
