Rangers International attacking pearl Ibrahim Olawoyin has told www.aclsports.com that he is relieved to have made a full recovery from injury after his successful return to competitive action.

Olawoyin, 23, played full ninety minutes in a Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Match Day 22 tie against Akwa United in Uyo, his first start since January 3rd when he got injured in the reverse fixture in Enugu.

The winger made a telling contribution in the game with his pace and trickery causing the opposing defenders a nightmare.

“I’m very relieved and so excited to be back on the field of play because no player likes to be injured, I’m happy I’m back fully now to push my team forward in the league,” said Olawoyin to www.aclsports.com

Rangers suffered a disappointing 0-1 loss at home to Rivers United on Match Day 21, in the game that marked Olawoyin’s return from injury. That gave more importance to the Akwa United game and the winger is at least happy that they did not go empty-handed.

“I would have wished we took all the three points at stake considering we lost our last match at home against Rivers United, but I still give kudos to my teammates because we played against a team on 11 matches unbeaten both home and away, so I’m happy we got a point.”

It's great to complete my first 90 minutes in a year, against a good opposition.

Salisu Yusuf’s Flying Antelopes will next face Jigawa Golden Stars in Enugu on Thursday as they continue in their quest to at least claim a continental spot at the end of the season.

Olawoyin says their fans should expect improved results from the team going forward.

“The fans should expect improvement from us, because this is the business end of the league.

“We should be winning home and away as we hope to be the champions of the league or atleast pick a continental ticket,” concluded the winger.
