Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) table toppers Plateau United were humiliated by Abia Warriors in one of the Match Day 11 games decided on Sunday.

United, coached by Abdu Maikaba were spanked 3-0 at the Umuahia Township Stadium courtesy of goals from Emmanuel Ugwuka, Guy Keumian and Lukman Bello. The Tin City Boys still remain top of the table though.

Rivers United secured the only away win on Sunday, a richly earned 2-0 win at Adamawa United. Strikers Junior Osaghae and Malachi Ohawume scored in each half to give Stanley Eguma’s men a second away win over newly promoted sides this term.

Fuad Ekelojuoti pounced late in the game to secure a 1-1 draw for Sunshine Stars at home to Dakkada FC. Femi Ajayi had given the visitors a first half lead.

Tasiu Lawal scored twice for Katsina United as they dug deep to edge a five-goal thriller against Jigawa Golden Stars in Katsina. Lawal scored the first and last goals of the game in the 3-2 win for his side.

Akarandut Orok scored for the third game in a row as Akwa United ended Lobi Stars’ unbeaten run with a 1-0 victory. Orok found the back of the net, firing home a rebound after Lobi goalkeeper Moses Ocheje had saved Ndifreke Effiong’s penalty.

Samuel Kalu scored the only goal of the game as FC Ifeanyiubah edged the Mini-Oriental derby 1-0 against Heartland in Nnewi while Warri Wolves also defeated Kwara United 2-1 in Warri.

MFM FC will face Nasarawa United in another Match Day 11 game in Lagos on New Year’s day.
