Shooting Stars of Ibadan recorded their biggest win in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) in six years by beating struggling Heartland 4-0 at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan on Wednesday.

The game, being one of the matchday ten games in the NPFL, saw the Oluyole Warriors score all of their goals in the second half through different goalscorers in the one-sided encounter. Former Vandrezzer forward Kola Daniel opened the scoring for the hosts before substitute Malomo Taofeek made it two. Other goals came from Ayo Adejubu and Nafiu Raheem who were also second-half introductions in the game.

Shooting Stars have scored four goals in a home #NPFL game for the first time since 2016 (4-0 v Kano Pillars).#NPFL22

Elsewhere, Nasarawa United edged Enyimba 2-1 in Lafia. Victor Mbaoma had given the Elephants the lead before goals from Tolulope Oluwole and Mohammed Shammasu turned it around for the hosts.

In a similar fashion, Rivers United managed to defeat Dakkada 2-1 in Port-Harcourt to extend their unbeaten run to 10 games. Ishaq Rafiu got his eighth and ninth goal of the season on either side of Emmanuel Ayaosi’s goal for the visitors.

Ibrahim Buhari’s fifth-minute goal handed Plateau United their first away win of the season at Enugu Rangers, while Kano Pillars and Remo Stars settled for an insipid goalless draw in Kaduna.

It was one-way traffic in Okigwe as Abia Warriors pummelled Wikki Tourists 3-0. Valentine Odoh scored a brace and Godwin Obaje added a third in the comfortable win for the Warriors. Meanwhile, Mustapha Salisu’s 36th minute goal gave Katsina United all three points against Sunshine Stars.

In the North Central Derby, two second-half goals ensured the spoils were shared at the Aper Aku Stadium on Wednesday. Shamsudeen Hashim had given Niger Tornadoes the lead three minutes after the break before Ifeanyi Ogba equalized for the home side nine minutes later.

Defending champions Akwa United were held to a 1-1 draw by Kwara United at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo. Stephen Chukwude gave the Promise Keepers the lead before Samad Kadiri equalized in the second half to snatch an away point for Abdullahi Biffo’s side.
