Head coach of Nigeria Professional Football League side Yobe Desert Stars; Ngozi Elechi believes his side have all it takes to deal with any threat posed by FC Ifeanyiubah when both sides meet in a Match Day 4 game on Wednesday.
Ifeanyiubah are unbeaten after three games and as a matter of fact yet to concede a goal in all their matches. They are on five points having secured two goalless draws away from home and will hope to consolidate further with a home win over Yobe Stars. The coach of their opponents Ngozi Elechi however says he has nothing to worry about.
“For me, there is nothing to worry about because this (against Go Round) is the second time I’m watching Ifeanyiubah,” Elechi told www.aclsports.com
“I was in Jos when they played Plateau United. Their games come in only in the second half. They don’t do well in the first half, in every first half you see them trying to study the opponents and they will now push in the second half.
“So I have told my boys that to beat Ifeanyiubah, you should just take them in the first half but overall, it’s football and you just have to pray for luck,” he added.
While Ifeanyiubah will be playing their fourth game of the campaign, this will only be the first game for Yobe Desert Stars who have had their last three games postponed. Elechi doesn’t see that as much of an advantage.
“I don’t think it’s an advantage because it is a choked up fixtures for me because from Week One to three, we didn’t play any game while others have played and they will rest.
“So, when they will be resting, we will be choking up the games at hand which I don’t see it as an advantage but a situation where my boys will be a little bit burnout if I don’t have the right mentality to do that.”
Wednesday’s game will come up at the FC Ifeanyiubah Stadium in Nnewi, Anambra State.
