It was yet another exciting weekend in the #NPFL23 with match day four games happening across two days. Remo Stars lost their unbeaten record to Bendel Insurance in Benin on Saturday, Rivers United extended their dominance over Dakkada in Uyo and Shooting Stars were able to nick a first win of the season on Sunday.
After the games on Sunday, the coaches reacted to the results.
Enyimba coach Finidi George was pleased with his side’s performance in the 3-0 bashing of Kwara United and hopes his side can build on from here.
“We were quite happy and the boys did well. We have the capacity to play well and today they showed class. We have to build on this and keep believing that we can go anywhere and win”

On his part, Kwara United coach Azeez Mohammed, who has been handed a two-match ultimatum after the game in Aba, admitted that the best team won.
“We were not at our best and I think the best team won today.”
In Jos where Lobi Stars made it three consecutive wins and no goal conceded, Mohammed Baba Ganaru believes his boys are showing some chemistry and was pleased to see Kumanga Suur score a brace in the comfortable 3-0 win over Bayelsa United.

“It is a new team and the boys are adapting to my philosophy. On Suur, I have developed so many young players over my career and it is all about giving them confidence.
Meanwhile, Teibowei Dipreye, Bayelsa United’s head coach, was not happy with the officiating, saying “I am not happy that we lost but I’m not also happy with the officiating”
A man who is currently happy is Deji Ayeni after seeing his Akwa United side clinch a late 1-0 win over Plateau United in Eket, Akwa Ibom State.
“I am so delighted with the result. I give it to the boys for their resilience, determination and for everything”
On his part, Fidelis Ilechukwu was impressed with the display by the two teams and hopes to return home to win the next game.
“It was a good game between the two teams. We were able to express ourselves and show that we have all it takes but we lost the game. We just have to go back home and see what we can do to win the next game.
At the end of the intriguing match day, Wikki Tourists coach Kabiru Dogo was also handed a 2-match ultimatum by the board.
Action in the NPFL continues on Wednesday as Bendel Insurance and Rivers United continue to set the pace in Groups A and B respectively.
