Former African champions Enyimba will face Remo Stars in the opening game of the 2023 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Super Six Championship PlayOffs (NPFLSuper6) after draws for the season-ending tournament were conducted on Friday.

The draws ceremony attended by top officials of all six teams involved in the tournament; Enyimba, Rivers United, Bendel Insurance, Lobi Stars, Sunshine Stars and Remo Stars witnessed the pitting of teams against one another in the round robin tournament.

The opening fixture between Enyimba and Remo Stars is billed for 2pm on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos where all fifteen matches in the Playoffs will be staged.


Defending league champions Rivers United will face Sunshine Stars in the second game of Day One while Bendel Insurance, who are unbeaten in twenty-three games across all competitions this season will face Lobi Stars in the third game.

Matches will be held every other day in this PlayOffs which will be used to determine the Nigerian league champions for 2022/2023 as well as pick the other two teams that will represent Nigeria on the continent next season.

The last time this type of format was engaged to end the Nigerian league, Enyimba won the tournament held at the Agege Township Stadium in 2019.

Sunshine v Rivers United 4pm
Bendel Insurance v Lobi Stars 6pm

Day 2 – 5th June

Lobi stars vs Enyimba 2pm

Bendel Insurance vs Sunshine Stars 6pm

Day 3 – 7th June

Bendel Insurance vs Enyimba 2pm
Remo Stars vs Sunshine Stars 4pm
Lobi stars vs Rivers United 6pm

Day 4 – 9th June

Rivers United vs Bendel Insurance 2pm
Lobi stars vs Remo Stars 4pm
Sunshine Stars vs Enyimba 6pm

Day 5 – 11th June

Sunshine Stars vs Lobi stars 2pm
Remo vs Bendel Insurance 4pm
Enyimba vs Rivers United 6pm
