In a bid to strengthen the senior men’s team ahead of the African Games, the Nigeria Volleyball Federation has invited 9 foreign-based players to camp, www.aclsports.com reports.
The head coach of Nigeria senior men’s team, Musa Baba-Musa released a list of 25 players invited for the 13th African Games camp which begins on 27th January, 2024 at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium (ABS) in Kaduna.
The Technical Director of NVBF, Martin Melandi told www.aclsports.com that letters have been sent to the respective clubs of the invited players in order to beef up the squad.
Former Fenerbahçe SC hitman, Arinze Nwachukwu who now plays for Bigadic Belediye SC of Turkey tops the list of foreign invited players.
Former National U19 and U21 players, Abdulquadri Jaiyeola (Al Wasl Club of Dubai), Izuchukwu Nwachukwu (KS Tirana Club of Albania), Pascal Ozokoye (Odbojkaški klub Niš of Serbia), Oyewale Oyedepo (Nabih Saleh SC of Bahrain) and Vincent Mathias (Ittihad De Tanger VC of Morocco) are among those called for the African Games Camp.
The duo of Chinedu Pascal and Ebuka Anachuna playing for Al Itthad Club of Tripoli in Libya got invited to the African Games camp. Samuel Ogwuche (Al Bashaer Club of Oman) and Vincent Mathias (Ittihad De Tanger VC of Morocco) were not left out of the squad.
The 13th African Games is scheduled for 8th to 23rd March, 2024 in Accra, Kumasi and Cape Coast in Ghana.
