Head coach of NWFL Premiership side Rivers Angels, Edwin Okon has told fans of the team to expect more goals from his “attacking team” as the 2020/21 league season progresses.

Okon, in a chat with www.aclsports.com believes his side can do better than their six goals exploit against Delta Queens in a Match Day 2 contest in Port Harcourt last midweek.

His side are the highest scoring team in the Premiership after two round of matches having scored seven goals in their two matches including a 6-2 win over Delta Queens. Okon says more should be expected.

“You should expect more than that (six goals). It is an attacking team. We just have to go back and work more on our conversion and think of correcting the mistakes that led to conceding of the goals,” the former Super Falcons handler told www.aclsports.com

Rivers Angels signed no fewer that twelve players ahead of the new season with seven of them starting against Delta Queens. Regardless of the wholesome change in personnel which saw some of the team’s stars travel abroad for greener pastures, the team remain competitive in all fronts.

“I believe in the team. They are a good set of players. In Rivers Angels, if you are not good for that week, you don’t play. But once you are fit for that week, the match is for you.

“They are all good. In and out, they are good so whoever comes to represent the state knows that you are representing yourself first,” added Okon.

Rivers Angels next travel to Benin City for a Week 3 encounter against Edo Queens at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin next Wednesday.
