The 2020/21 NWFL Premiership returned on Wednesday evening as Lagos-based FC Robo Queens and Osun Babes both secured vital away wins.

The opening match of the new season took place between Nasarawa Amazons and Robo Queens at the Lafia Township Stadium, with dignitaries in attendance treated to top quality football which saw the away side come away with all three points.

It was Rukayat Shobowale who put the visitors in the lead in the 32nd minute as Nasarawa Amazons failed to find a response to salvage something from the game. Robo on the other hand tried to consolidate on their lead with several other chances created but eventually settled for a 0-1 win away from home.

Similarly in Akwa Ibom, Ibom Angels lost to Osun Babes courtesy of a 58th minute strike from Yemisi Samuel.
