The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership has been postponed a day before the commencement of the 2019/ 2020 league season ACLSports can confirm.

The newly rebranded league which was expected to kick-off on Wednesday, 18th of March, has now been postponed by a week due to the shortcomings of some of the participating clubs as revealed by the league organizers in a letter made available to the media.

These shortcomings are irregularities involved in the registration process by the clubs. Some of which includes clubs’ inability to meet up with the submission of evidence of payment of players wages and completion of the required comprehensive medical reports.

Due to this, the league will now kick-off next week Wednesday, 25th of March, 2020.

It is expected that by then, all defaulting clubs would have done the needful to ensure that the NWFL Premiership goes on as planned.
