Exciting midfielder Oche Salefu Ochowechi has told www.aclsports.com that he is upbeat on his chance of breaking into the CD Feirense first team “soonest”.
Oche, 19, made his long awaited debut for the Blues in their emphatic 5-1 triumph over Villa Mea in the Portuguese Cup on Saturday.
The former Plateau United and Remo Stars midfielder came on in the 77th minute for fellow midfielder Joao Paulo and relishes the experience.
“It was actually a nice experience for me knowing fully well that this is actually my first season in Europe,” began Oche to www.aclsports.com.
“It is also my first game for the team and it wasn’t a bad one, I’m so happy.”
Oche Salefu joined the Portuguese second division side on the final day of the transfer window alongside three other Nigerian stars Matthias Ogwuche, Anthony Shimaga and Charles Atshimene who all made their debuts in Saturday’s win.
Feirense have been in good form this term, a development that has seen the team shoot to the top of Portugal’s second division and also means it is increasingly difficult for the Nigerian quartet to playing time with the team.
Oche however believes his chance to break into the side will come soon.
“I think that very soon, I’m going to get my chance to start games because before coming here I didn’t partake in their pre-season and the league had actually started here also before I arrived.
“So I’m already getting used to their style of play and hopefully the games will start coming soonest,” he submitted.
Segunda Liga leaders CD Feirense will host Varzim in a league game on Sunday as the Nigerian legion continue to battle for possible minutes.
